For the first time since the group’s inception, Sublime with Rome is heading up to Vancouver for 99.3 the Fox’s newest Foxfest at Deer Lake Park on B.C. Day.
The trio of original Sublime bassist Eric Wilson, session drummer Josh Freese and vocalist Rome Ramirez will bring a good 40 of ska punk hits on August 6, including “Date Rape”, “What I Got”, “Santeria”, “Wrong Way” and “Doin’ Time”.
The group formed more than a decade after original lead singer Bradley Nowell’s death. Fandom for Sublime only grew following his overdose and the band’s music reached younger generations, sparking renewed interest.
The band will be supported by legendary Long Island hip-hoppers Public Enemy, best known for its outspoken MC Chuck D and hype man Flavor Flav. They’re bound to play such PE! faves as “Fight the Power”, “Bring the Noise” and “Don’t Believe the Hype”.
In addition, local alt rocker Daniel Wesley will open the show.
Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster in-person and on its website for $59.50 each.
